Orientation about the cell (Aug 2023):

The Cell's youtube channel (contains useful videos)

Cell's objectives broadly:

- Overall welfare of SCST students (for example, academics, scholarships), working together with other institute/department entities of IITB: increasing know-how/tips/guidelines about the processes/rules. This also includes analyzing performance batch-wise/year-wise of SCST students in comparison with rest of the students, both UG and PG.
- Sensitization of the campus community: all students, all staff-members, all faculty-members: efforts towards further improving inclusivity.
- Grievance and complaint handling: receiving and interacting with SCST students about matters related to caste-based discrimination.

A detailed mandate will be put up here soon.

Casteist and offensive slurs that should ashame anybody using them!

It is unfortunate that much of casual conversation has slurs coming from casteist origins. It is time to recognize this, educate ourselves and stop using such slurs. In fact, any slurs arising from gender/caste/racial or any other bias should ashame those using them. Please stop using them and also politely prohibit others from using such slurs.

We acknowledge and thank Divya Kandukuri, BuzzFeed India for the Youtube Video, the basis for this list
